A Night Under the Stars

To celebrate finally getting the title to our thistly field, we decided to camp out there last night. Helen grabbed this piccy, although a camera can't really do justice to how spectacular the night sky was.

Here are a few more photos we took while we were there.

At last!

We are now the proud owners of a field full of thistles!

The title on our land came through today. It's only taken 19 months. :( The next step is to submit a building consent application (on Monday) and then wait for the council approval. In theory they have to deal with it inside 20 working days, but that resets if they ask a lot of questions - which, being a council, they probably will. I'm hoping it'll take maybe 6 weeks and then Carlo, out Canadian concrete guy, can put in an access track and get the slab down, and the electrical contractor can hook up some temporary power to the site.

The next few weekends will be spent grubbing thistles and figuring out how the hell to manage the place. Anyone got a hovercraft sized Flymo they want to lend me?
